Mid-Autumn Festival

A traditional festival celebrated in Asian countries, particularly in China. Falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month (largest and brightest full moon of the year). During this time, people spend time with their family, eat mooncakes, and admire the moon.

Attended a Mooncake baking class. Made the dough from scratch (using icing sugar, egg yolk, flour, butter) and the filling was premade (salted egg yolk custard). Also tried the traditional lotus paste with a singular salted egg yolk inside. Personally, not the biggest fan of lotus paste because it doesn't taste like anything.

I visited two lantern festival events on Hong Kong Island. Both were beautifully lit and totally worth experiencing.
